Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan reached a ceasefire agreement on Friday after overnight clashes along their border, the Kyrgyz border service announced.
The two sides held a telephone meeting "in order to cease fire and prevent the escalation of the conflict" and agreed to start implementing the cease-fire starting at 6 am CET, the Kyrgyz side stated.
Earlier, Bishkek and Dushanbe accused each other of attacking the other side's border guards with Kyrgyzstan reporting injuries to eleven of its servicemen.
