The second result of Britain's parliamentary election has been announced, showing that the Labour Party's Ian Lavery has won in Blyth and Ashington.
Labour won 50% of the vote to win its second seat of the night, with Reform UK coming in second with 27% of the vote. The Tories came in third for the second time tonight with 15% of the vote, after being pushed to third place by Nigel Farage's Reform UK in Houghton and Sunderland South.
This is a new constituency, created after the boundaries of the UK's 650 seats were adjusted following the most recent election in 2019.
