Latvia's Prime Minister Krisjanis Karins announced Monday that he and his cabinet will resign this week.

"This Thursday, I will submit the resignation of myself and this cabinet to the president," Karins said during a press conference.

The prime minister said previously on Friday that he expected to reshuffle the government after coalition partners rejected his proposal to reshuffle the cabinet.
