French President Emmanuel Macron pointed out on Thursday that he has no intention of initiating fresh snap elections.

"I saw that one of your colleagues wrote complete nonsense. It's not serious on Bloomberg's part to have written that," Macron told reporters on a trip to Madagascar. "I've never said such a thing, nor have I considered such a thing."

The statement follows his office's move yesterday to explicitly deny on the X platform the Bloomberg story suggesting potential new elections were under consideration.
