French President Emmanuel Macron is considering dissolving the parliament and calling for early elections again as soon as this autumn, as his enhanced international standing could help strengthen his domestic political position.

Sources close to the discussions told Bloomberg on Tuesday that Macron has been consulting with his close advisers about this possibility in recent weeks. These talks remain exploratory, with no final verdict reached. The regular parliamentary elections are scheduled for 2029.

On June 9, 2024, Macron dissolved the National Assembly and called snap elections in a national address following projections that indicated that the L'Europe Ensemble electoral coalition would be significantly eclipsed by the National Rally in the European Parliament elections in France.
