PJSC Lukoil announced on Monday the company has reached an agreement on selling the refinery in Italy, Litasco SA.

The Russian energy giant revealed in a statement that the transaction is expected to be finalized by the end of March 2023 after receving approvals of "relevant authorities, particularly the Italian government."

Back in December, the Lukoil-controlled refinery in Italy said it would continue operating despite European Union's embargo on Russian oil that sought to reduce dependence on Moscow's oil imports by roughly 90% by year's end.
