National Assembly Member and leader of the far-right National Rally Party Marine Le Pen welcomed French President Emmanuel Macron's decision to call a snap election on Sunday.
"The president, responding to the call of Jorban Bardella, announced the dissolution of the National Assembly. I can only welcome this decision," Le Pen said. She followed the statement up by stressing that it is "a real emotion to see this beautiful popular force rising up throughout the country," referring to the election results.
"We are ready to exercise power if the French trust us," she added.
