McCarthy to oust 3 Dems from panels if GOP gets majority

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy said on Monday he would remove three Democrats from House committees if Republicans manage to retake the majority in this year's midterms.

McCarthy stated he would remove Adam Schiff and Eric Swalwell from the House Intelligence Committee and take Ilhan Omar out of the House Foreign Affairs Committee. For Swalwell's planned removal, McCarthy cited the Democrat's alleged ties with a Chinese spy, while he accused Schiff of lying to the American public over former US President Donald Trump's relations with Russia and Omar accused of anti-Semitism.

The comments come after Democrats removed GOP representatives, Marjorie Taylor Greene and Paul Gosar, from House panels.
