United States Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell urged on Tuesday President Joe Biden to act and prevent Iran from harming Washington's interests.
"Iran is working hard to attack American forces, undermine our influence, and sow chaos among our allies. @POTUS must not let this happen," McConnell wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter, and attached the speech he read at the upper congressional chamber.
"[E]effective deterrence requires both capabilities and credibility. It requires that a global superpower actually act like one," he said in his speech. "And it means finally taking the advice I offered President Biden when he took office: Set aside the failed nuclear deal, work with Republicans, and build an Iran policy that can endure long after he leaves office."
