Russian Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev said on Wednesday that the internal political struggle "of neo-Nazi elites" in Ukraine provoked the destruction of a Russian Aerospace Forces' Ilyushin IL-76 aircraft in Belgorod region.
"These trident freaks will easily kill their servicemen and prisoners of war to maintain their power... They will mercilessly bomb their towns and villages, burning their houses to dust and incinerating their elderly and children," Medvedev posted on his Telegram account.
The Russian Defense Ministry accused Ukraine of shooting down the IL-76, which was transporting 65 Ukrainian captured military personnel. All the prisoners along with six members of the aircraft crew and three accompanying individuals were killed in the crash.
