Meta Platforms Inc. stated that it disagrees with the fine imposed by the Turkish competition authority on Wednesday, adding that the company "will consider all options."

Meta's spokesperson claimed the company's platforms "protect user privacy and provide people with transparency and control over their data."

Earlier on Wednesday, the Turkish Competition Board fined Meta, formerly known as Facebook, 346.7 million lira ($18.64 million) for violation of the country's competition law.
