AC Milan defeated Tottenham Hotspur with a single winning goal on Tuesday, making a key lead ahead of the second leg of the round of 16 scheduled for March 8.

Milan's midfielder Brahim Diaz scored the goal in the seventh minute of the match that was played at the San Siro Stadium in Milan, Italy.

It was the first game that kicked off the elimination phase of this year's Champions League following a winter break. The second game today was played between Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich at the same time.
