Lebanon's Labor Minister Moustafa Bayram told RIA Novosti on Monday that his country will not allow the conflict with Israel to escalate further after Lebanon-based and Iran-backed Hezbollah allegedly launched an attack on the Golan Heights, killing 12 Israelis.
"The Lebanese government is doing everything necessary to prevent the expansion of the scale of Israeli aggression against Lebanon," Bayram said. He also insisted that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is using the current situation to ensure his country's people that he"has not turned his back on northern Israel and the Golan Heights."
Earlier, the Israeli security cabinet authorized Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yoav Gallant to decide when and how the country will respond to Hezbollah's deadly attack on the Golan Heights.
