A ballistic missile was launched from Yemen at Israel, triggering air raid alerts in central Israel and the Jerusalem area, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said on Thursday.
The military added that it successfully shot down the missile before crossing Israel's border.
Earlier, the Ynet news agency reported, citing an Israeli official, that the United States asked Israel not to respond to Yemen's Houthi attacks and "let them deal with it" as Washington launched a new campaign against the Iran-backed rebel group.
