Mitsubishi confirms investment in Renault's Ampere

Mitsubishi Motors Corporation confirmed on Tuesday in a statement that it will be investing in Renault Group's new electric vehicle company Ampere.

The maximum sum to be injected into the EV unit will be €200 million. "For Mitsubishi Motors, the investment comes as an ambitious step forward in its mid-term management plan announced in March 2023, where Mitsubishi Motors committed to the development of electric vehicles and to strengthen cooperation with its Alliance members toward the acceleration phase of electrification," the carmaker said.

The company explained this collaboration will help develop its EV technology further, as well as broaden its EV line-up.
