Modi 'deeply saddened, shocked' by Raisi's death

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi (pictured) conveyed his sadness on Monday morning over the demise of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi. According to the Iranian state-run Press TV, Raisi, along with Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, lost their lives in a helicopter crash on Sunday.

"Deeply saddened and shocked by the tragic demise of Dr. Seyed Ebrahim Raisi, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran. His contribution to strengthening India-Iran bilateral relationship will always be remembered. My heartfelt condolences to his family and the people of Iran. India stands with Iran in this time of sorrow," Modi posted on X.

Hamas also offered condolences on the death of the Iranian President and Foreign Minister and their accompanying delegation.
