The trial of 19 suspects accused in the Crocus City Hall terror attack will begin August 4 at the Moscow City Court, according to the court's press service to TASS on Monday. The March 22, 2024, attack, claimed by ISIS, left 149 people dead and over 550 injured by gunfire or burns. A panel of three judges will lead the proceedings.
The Second Western District Military Court will conduct the hearings in one of the city court's buildings.
Lawyer Lyudmila Aivar, who represents 95 victims, said the court rejected requests to dismiss charges against four of the defendants and refused to hold the trial with a jury. She added that motions to return the case for further investigation were also denied.
