Mossad said to discuss Gaza resettlement plans

The Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu directed Mossad to find countries that would be willing to accept a large number of Palestinians displaced from Gaza, Walla News reported on Friday.

Netanyahu's initiative was based on the plan proposed by United States President Donald Trump to resettle the war-torn enclave's entire population to other countries and turn the strip into a resort area. According to unnamed senior sources from the US and Israel, the Mossad already discussed the plan with Somalia, South Sudan, Indonesia, as well as other countries. At the same time, US sources indicated the Trump administration is not currently considering the Gaza resettlement scheme and is focused on securing a new ceasefire deal between Israel and Hamas.

Netanyahu's office declined to comment on the report.
