Sanad Aerotech, controlled by Abu Dhabi's investment fund, signed a deal worth $6.5 billion with Rolls-Royce Holdings Plc for maintenance, repair and overhaul of the British partner's Trenton 700 engines for nine years. The unit of Mubadala Investment Company Pjsc, based in Abu Dhabi, was launched last month as a brand. The companies said the services would be provided to aircraft operators.
The product is used in Airbus A330s. The firm, which also works with gas turbines and driven equipment, revealed it would raise output to 75 from 22 engines of the kind per year and that it would lift the number of engineers and technicians by over two fifths to five hundred. Rolls-Royce established cooperation in 2013 with the counterpart from the United Arab Emirates. Sanad has finished work on ninety Trent 700s so far.
