Mubadala to invest €1B in French fund

France's Minister of the Economy and Finance Bruno Le Maire revealed on Monday that Mubadala Investment Company from Abu Dhabi will "invest €1 billion the 'Lac d'argent' ('Silver Lake') fund alongside French investors."

The minister explained the nature of "Lac d'argent" fund, clarifying that it is a French public investment bank Bpifrance S.A.'s fund that "makes it possible to invest in listed French companies over the long term and ensures their stable shareholding."

He made the announcement of the deal on Twitter, adding that the investment is aimed to assist the "long-term growth of both businesses." The deal underlines "trust between France and the United Arab Emirates," Le Maire wrote.
