A shooting was reported in central Paris on Friday near a Kurdish cultural center, with several people injured in the attack that took place in the city's 10th arrondissement.
The police confirmed the event, urging citizens to avoid the area for the investigation to take place. A 69-year-old man was arrested shortly after opening fire and shooting multiple people, however, the attacker's motives weren't disclosed. Local media claimed two people died and two others were in critical condition following the incident.
"Thank you to the security forces for their swift action. Thoughts for the victims and those who witnessed this drama," Paris deputy mayor Emmanuel Gregoire shared in a Twitter post commenting on the event.
