The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department announced on Wednesday it is currently on site dealing with a shooting at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) campus, with multiple victims reported.
"Please avoid the area and we will have more information soon," the LVMPD wrote on X, previously known as Twitter. Meanwhile, the UNLV posted an emergency notification on its website around 11:54 am local time, urging people present at the campus to hide.
The White House said during its press conference the administration has been informed of the incident and is closely monitoring the situation. Shortly after, the LVMPD tweeted that the suspect was "contained" and the investigation ongoing. Later, they confirmed that the alleged perpetrator died.
