Billionaire Elon Musk departed for Texas on Thursday following his meeting with Shanghai Communist Party Committee Secretary Chen Jining, concluding his trip to China.
According to local media reports, Chen and Musk agreed to double down on cooperation between Tesla Inc. and the Chinese megacity which already hosts the electric vehicle giant's gigafactory. The areas of such collaboration are expected to include EVs, new energy and its storage, as well as new services to boost technology's influence on the Chinese market.
During his visit, Musk visited Tesla's workers in the first oversea factory dubbed Giga Shanghai and held high-level talks with China's Foreign Minister Qin Gang in Beijing.
