N. Korea's Kim attends launch of naval destroyer

North Korean Leader Kim Jong-un attended a launching ceremony for a new naval destroyer at a shipyard in the western port city of Nampho during North Korea's 93rd anniversary of the founding of the People's Revolutionary Army, the KCNA reported.

Kim stated that the 5,000-ton multipurpose ship will build up the strength of the country's navy, aid it in "thoroughly defending" the country's maritime sovereignty and serve as an integral starting point on its path to becoming an advanced maritime power.
