North Korea denounced the joint military drills between the United States and South Korea again, calling the misfire on the South Korean village of Pocheon a clear "ominous" sign of the joint military drills' dangers, KCNA reported.

Pyongyang called on its "enemies" to "take seriously" the dangers of their military exercise. It demanded that the US and South Korea "immediately stop" what it called a "nuclear war simulation" which it sees as the "root cause for the worsening security situation on the Korean Peninsula." It stated that it was "closely watching" every act of the US-South Korean military alliance, promising that it would "move to ruthless action without warning" in the case of an emergency.

Last week, North Korea launched multiple ballistic missiles toward the Yellow Sea.
