North Korean military ordered its troops to fire artillery shots into the sea on Tuesday, just a day after firing 130 shells into the maritime buffer zones near the inter-Korean border, the country's state Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) announced.
The North's military claimed its move came in response to the South's "provocations," explaining that it saw the neighboring nation perform similar actions on Monday.
The actions seemingly refer to live-fire drills between the United States and South Korea, which the allies said were organized to "deter" nuclear-armed Pyongyang.
