North Korea on Monday kicked off a key party meeting with the attendance of the country's Supreme Leader Kim Jong-un, the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported.
The news comes after the leader presided over the sixth plenary meeting of the eighth Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea the previous day, according to state media. In the meeting, the party discussed tasks for 2023, including a review of major state policies for 2022.
According to South Korea's Yonhap news agency, Kim emphasized that the "national power" of the North has "remarkably increased in all fields of politics, military, economy and culture."
