NBCUniversal Head of Global Advertising and Partnerships Linda Yaccarino is reportedly in negotiations to become the next chief executive officer of Twitter, the Wall Street Journal wrote citing people familiar with the matter.

Billionaire Elon Musk earlier revealed that social media giant's chief executive has been selected, but failed to disclose the identity of the person. Yaccarino joined NBCUniversal back in 2011, and has been overseeing all international and domestic advertising sales and partnerships since then.

Yaccarino also serves as the chair of World Economic Forum's Taskforce on Future of Work.
