Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and United States Secretary of State Marco Rubio recently spoke and discussed the current situation in the Gaza Strip, including the resumption of Israel's attacks in the region, Netanyahu's office reported on Sunday.

"The two discussed regional developments, including the release of the hostages and the renewed fighting in the Gaza Strip. Secretary Rubio expressed the United States' unwavering support for Israel and its policies," the Israeli prime minister's office said in a post on X.

The report comes after White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said on Thursday that US President Donald Trump "fully supports" Israel and the actions that the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) had taken in recent days.
