Netanyahu: Conflict with Hamas not operation but war to the end

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told soldiers on Monday that the country's conflict with Hamas is not only an "operation" but a "war to the end."

"This is neither an 'operation' nor a 'round' but a war to the end. It is important to me that you know this. This is not lip service, but from the heart and mind," Netanyahu stated as he met members of the Israel Defense Forces' (IDF) Caracal battalion. "If we do not finish them, it will come back," he added.

Israeli officials have insisted that their goal is to completely eradicate Hamas in response to the group's attack on Israel on October 7, but Netanyahu refused to say whether he is prepared to take responsibility for failing to prevent the attacks.
