Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated on Monday after examining the defense budget proposal that Iran remains the "greatest threat" to his country, "both directly and through its proxies."

"We made sure of course to damage the axis, in a very serious way," Netanyahu said after the meeting on the matter. "But we see that it still exists, and that additional forces are entering the field, and we must always be prepared for what is to come."

Netanyahu's comments came after he, Defense Minister Israel Katz, and Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich reviewed the proposal of the budget for Israel's armed and security forces.
