Diplomatic contacts between the United States and Iran could continue in Rome, Italy, this Saturday, after the conclusion of the first round of indirect negotiations between the two countries in Oman, according to Axios.
The suggestion to hold the second round of nuclear talks in Italy's capital came from the Trump administration. Furthermore, the US is said to seek direct contact with the Iranian side, something which Tehran has resisted so far, insisting on indirect conversation.
Both sides have expressed optimism about the initial round of contacts, with US President Donald Trump saying the talks were "developing quite well."
