The following few weeks in Ukraine are likely to "be ugly," CIA Director William Burns (pictured) predicted on Tuesday.

Russian President Vladimir Putin is likely to "double down" in Ukraine with no regard to civilian casualties, Burns said to Congress.

A similar forecast regarding the intensity of hostilities in Ukraine in the coming period has been communicated to the lawmakers earlier today by Director of National Intelligence Avril Haines.
