British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak will not face sanctions over an alleged confidentiality breach concerning the parliamentary inquiry into his and his wife Akshata Murty's business handling, the House of Common's Committee on Standards said on Thursday.
The committee concluded that Sunak breached the confidentiality code but did not deliberately mislead the investigation. "I formed the view that the failure to declare arose out of this confusion and was accordingly inadvertent on the part of Mr Sunak," Commissioner Daniel Greenberg said in a statement.
The committee started an investigation of Sunak and Murty's business deals after the prime minister failed to declare his wife's stake at a childcare agency as a ministerial interest.
