Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said on Wednesday that the government is exploring tough steps in order to maintain or lower fuel prices on the domestic wholesale market.
"If more drastic decisions are needed, which we are discussing at meetings, we will be ready to apply these drastic decisions," Novak told reporters. However, he did not reveal what specific measures are being discussed.
He also assured that the government is successfully controlling the fuel market, and stressed that production is increasing and that there is no fuel shortage in the Russian market.
