The number of U.S. oil rigs rose by 2 to 525 in the week ending December 30 compared to a week ago, according to the Baker Hughes weekly Rig Count published on Friday.
U.S. gas rigs number increased by 3 to 132 in the same period, while the total number of rigs rose by 5 to 658. The number of U.S. oil rigs was down by 11 compared to a year ago.
The number of Canada’s oil rigs decreased by 54 to 52 in the week ending December 30 compared to a week before that. The number of Canada’s rigs fell by 67 to 157 in the same period, while the number of gas rigs was down by 13 at 100. The number of Canada’s oil rigs increased by 40 compared to a year ago.
