OpenAI: Free ChatGPT version to get o3-mini

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman revealed on Thursday in a post on social media platform X that updates are coming for users of ChatGPT, the company's generative artificial intelligence chatbot.

"Big news: the free tier of ChatGPT is going to get o3-mini! [And] the plus tier will get tons of o3-mini usage," Altman announced.

o3-mini is the firm's most recent reasoning AI model. The o3 series was envisioned to tackle complicated challenges in less time than the o1 series and to do so with more precision.
