Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) suspended their forward Lionel Messi over his unauthorized two-day trip to Saudi Arabia, L'Equipe reported on Tuesday
The club gave the Argentine a two-week suspension, during which he will be banned from training with the team and will miss French Ligue 1 games against Troyes and Ajaccio. Messi will not be paid during the suspension.
Messi reportedly asked for permission to travel to Saudi Arabia as part of his obligations as a tourism ambassador to the country but was told he could go only if PSG beat Lorient. However, Messi's team lost the game 3-1 over the weekend.
