France will refuse to trade with those who don't comply with the 2015 United Nations climate agreement, the country's President Emmanuel Macron said on Friday at the Citizens' Convention for ecological transition.
"We will not have a trade agreement with a country which does not respect the Paris agreement," Macron noted, adding that France will not ratify the agreement with the South American trade bloc, Mercosur.
Back in November, the United States formally notified the UN about its decision to pull out of the agreement, citing unfair economic burden imposed on Americans.
