Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov on Tuesday rejected the report by The New York Times, published the previous day, which suggests that Moscow is preparing to test a nuclear-powered cruise missile.

The report cited satellite images taken in late September, showing activity at a Russian Arctic base consistent with previous tests of the missile known as the Burevestnik. According to The Times, American surveillance aircraft have been monitoring the area for the past two weeks, but it remains uncertain whether the missile test has been already conducted or will happen in the near future.

"I don't know where the journalists of The New York Times got this from...Apparently, they need to study satellite images in more detail," Peskov stressed.
