Philippines President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. (pictured) underlined that business deals with the United States and Japan that the Philippines reached during the trilateral summit in Washington will not have any impact on China's investments.

"This [trilateral deal] is separate from any proposed or potential Chinese investments in the Philippines. How do I see it, how will it affect? I don’t see that it will affect, one way or the other," Marcos told reporters.

Previously, China called on Japan and the Philippines to avoid creating blocs and cliques and engaging in provocative actions in the East and South China Seas.
