Polish Defense Minister Mariusz Blaszczak (pictured) revealed on Wednesday that the country has started constructing a temporary barrier on the border with Russia's Kaliningrad region in order to bolster the country's security.
"The dam will consist of three rows of razor wire, which are used by the military around the world," Blaszczak explained, adding that works related to the installation of devices allowing for electronic border surveillance will be carried out concurrently.
"We use the experience gained last year, so there is no doubt that this dam protected the Polish-Belarusian border and prevented a hybrid attack from Belarusian territory, or slowed it down significantly," the Polish defense minister said. Poland completed the construction of 86-kilometer long barrier along the border with Belarus in June.
