The United Kingdom's Metropolitan Police announced on Tuesday in a statement that the man, who was arrested yesterday after a stabbing incident that took place at Leicester Square, London, was charged with attempted murder.
The police apprehended the perpetrator, identified as 32-year-old Ioan Pintaru "of no fixed address," after he wounded an 11-year-old girl. Initially, the child's mother, aged 34, was also believed to have been stabbed but it was later revealed that the blood on her clothes came from her daughter.
Both of them were sent to a hospital, with the police sharing that while the child's injuries were "serious" they were "non-life threatening."
