Poll: Haley overtakes DeSantis in GOP primary race

Former South Carolina Governor and United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley climbed to second place in the race for the Republican nomination for the 2024 United States election, according to a poll by the Wall Street Journal published on Thursday. Former US President Donald Trump holds a commanding lead at 59% of the vote, with Haley at 15%, and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis falling to third place with 14%.

With all the other candidates polling in single digits, Haley and DeSantis seem to be the only ones capable of threatening Trump's nomination when the primaries start in January. The survey was conducted between November 29 and December 4 so it does not reflect the fourth Republican debate.
