American citizens are worried about the state of the United States economy, according to a poll jointly conducted by the Wall Street Journal and social research organization NORC.

The release published on Monday noted the amount of dissatisfaction with the economy among Americans has reached the highest level in years, with around 83% of the surveyed citizens describing the economy as "poor" or "not so good" and 35% of respondents saying they aren't happy with their financials.

The poll, conducted on 1,073 adults during May, comes as the country battles record inflation.
