Precious metals extend decline, gold slumps 2%

The price of precious metals continued to decline on Friday amid the ongoing market turbulence caused by the worsening trade crisis and after China retaliated with a new 34% tariff on all goods.

Gold decreased 2.03% at 10:07 am ET and sold for $3,053.63 per ounce. Meanwhile, silver crashed 4.93% a minute later, selling for $30.30 per ounce. Platinum slumped 2.29% at the same minute, exchanging for $929.43. Palladium decreased 2.42% at 10:10 am ET, selling for $901.20.
