Exit polls suggest Austria's right-wing Freedom Party (FPO) is set to win its first national election, securing 29.1% of the vote.

The center-right Austrian People's Party (OVP) is projected to come in second with 26.2%, while the Social Democratic Party (SPO) trails in third at 20.4%.

These results indicate a significant shift in Austria's political landscape with Herbert Kickl, leader of the FPO and former interior minister eyeing the chancellorship, though he will need a coalition partner to form a government.
