Russian President Vladimir Putin is said to have agreed to an invitation from North Korean Supreme Leader Kim Jong-un to visit North Korea, Yonhap wrote citing Korean Central News Agency (KCNA).

The two leaders met earlier today at the Vostochny Cosmodrome in Russia's Far East. According to the supreme leader of North Korea, the meeting with his Russian counterpart will help strengthen ties between Moscow and Pyongyang.

The news comes after the Kremlin stated that there are no arrangements for the Russian president's return visit to North Korea at the moment.
