Russian President Vladimir Putin described on Tuesday the current level of cooperation between his country and China as "unprecedented" while stressing the two powers have not allied "against anyone."

"We are not creating military alliances, we are not friends against anyone, we are friends in the interests of our peoples. We will continue to do so," Putin said at the East Economic Forum (EEF) in Vladivostok.

Putin also accused the West of trying to deter China's development but noted that "they are too late ... the train has left." He also insisted that the world will see the establishment of new global centers of power.
