Qatar is expected to host indirect talks between the United States and Iran over the revival of the 2015 nuclear agreement in the upcoming days, according to a report published by local news agency ISNA on Monday.
"Iran has chosen Qatar to host the talks because of Doha's friendly ties with Tehran," ISNA cited Mohammad Marandi, who serves as a media adviser to Iran's top nuclear negotiator Ali Bagheri.
The JCPOA talks halted in March after Washington refused to remove Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps from its list of terrorist organizations. However, European Union's foreign policy chief Josep Borrell renewed hopes for a deal after revealing over the weekend negotiations would resume.
